Cinque Terre is located in the Liguria region of northwestern Italy, between the coastal cities of Genoa and La Spezia. Cinque Terre stretches along a stretch of coastline with plenty of nature, where the five villages can be reached by train, hiking trails and boat trips. Monterosso al Mare

Monterosso al Mare is the largest of the five villages in the Cinque Terre and is distinguished from the others by its wider streets and longer sandy beaches. It has a wider selection of restaurants, hotels and shops, making it a popular base for exploring the area. Monterosso is also known for its swimming opportunities and relaxed atmosphere. Many visitors enjoy combining walking between the villages with time at the beach.

Vernazza

Vernazza is considered by many to be the most picturesque of the Cinque Terre villages. The small harbor is surrounded by colorful houses, narrow alleys and outdoor cafes overlooking the sea. Manarola

Manarola is perhaps the village that most often appears on postcards and travel photos from the Cinque Terre. The colorful houses that rise from the hills above the sea have become a symbol of the entire Cinque Terre. In addition to the beautiful view, Manarola is known for its vineyards and its walking paths along the cliffs. Many visitors choose to stay here to experience the sunset over the Ligurian Sea.

Riomaggiore

Riomaggiore is the southernmost of the five villages of the Cinque Terre and often serves as the first stop for visitors arriving from La Spezia. Riomaggiore is characterized by its tall, colorful houses and its small harbor nestled between the cliffs. Riomaggiore's atmosphere and proximity to several hiking trails make the village a popular starting point for exploring the Cinque Terre.

Corniglia

Corniglia differs from the other villages in that it is not located directly on the sea. Instead, it is located high up on a cliff overlooking the coast and the sea. Those who make their way up to Corniglia can explore quieter environments and some of the best panoramic views in the entire Cinque Terre. Corniglia is also the smallest of the villages with only 100-200 inhabitants.
